Last 2 Left 4 Dead 2 Campaigns unveiled!

Last two Left 4 Dead 2 Campaigns have been unveiled. Wheather intentionally or on purpose is unknow but who cares really with news like this. Dead Center takes place in a mall, a typical zombie theme, and hopefully reminds us of long lost Dawn of the Dead movie. The Hard Rain seems to take place during a "cough" "cough" hurricane in Louisanna around a industrail complex. Looks might interesting...

Playing with portals

I like Portal... A LOT. Enough to where I've figured out how to play "Still Alive" on any brass instument, although mainly the tuba. So the other morning in band class I was doing my usual playthrough of "Still Alive" when the guy next to me turns and says "hey! your playing still alive!". You could just imagine my reaction. So we talked a bit about, well everything really, found out his steam username and well the next day we were Heavy Medic combo in TF2. THAT'S an amazing way to meet new people...

ahh... The Dead never ends..

you know what valve? I think Left 4 Dead is awesome, I don't care about having to pay $50 for Left 4 Dead 2, I really pumped for the 'Crash Course' campaign, bringing 'No Mercy' and 'Death Toll' together, and I cant explain the amazing freaking awesomeness I've had with the game. It's just too much... Tanks spawning at the very begging of a level 5 times in a row, or sometimes never spawning in a level. I'm happy to even go to say that I'm even happy to fail at getting Nothing Special soo many times because that just means i get to try again. It just astonishing in general. So I'm proclaiming tonight the start of a new project, a so called 'documentary' with important game play of Left 4 Dead as played by me and *cough* *cough* other true Left 4 Dead players showcasing the amazing, epic, humorous, dramatic, or any other type of reason that Left 4 Dead is as freaking amazing to FPS Gaming as Casablanca was to movies...

Innovation with Half Life 2 Deathmatch

So last nite was a long late nite. I decided to play a not so recent game, Half Life 2 Death match. I didn't expect it to be that much fun. i didn't expect it to last till 7:45 in the morning either. The map was dm_dropoff (I think) where it was more than just straight up death match. The map was centered around a medium sized base with an old dry boat passageway surrounding it. In the base is a computer that, when activated, sets a timer for a missile launch. After the countdown has been commenced, the two main doors will begin to close. As they close, you can prop them open with objects letting your last couple of teammates, or enemies, able to crouch through. After the time is up, the missiles fly in and everyone outside the base is completely incinerated.

Me and my freind were on seperate teams, but we still worked together a bit. We eventually both made it into the control room at the same time. We had a truce and decided to barricade ourselves inside with props lying around. We were in there for a while hunkered down returning fire, but after 10 to 15 mins a rocket finally ended our rein. After this we realised that the countdown had been initiated. I booked it to the door, which was being held open slightly by a chair, and quickly crouched in as the bombs fell. I spun around and shot the chair out from underneath the door just as the blinding white light filled the screen... Intense

So thanks Valve, thanks for HL2DM and all the innovation you allow us to have

District 9

Since cloverfield I've been waiting for something that would be that awesome again. It seems that there is something about to be at theaters that may amount to the same level of different and innovative type of storytelling that i like. This new movie (film) is District 9.

Aliens have landed, and there not hostile... at first. They came for a visit, but then things went array. We started asking them about their weapons, they wanted to leave, we dont let them. They, the aliens, are then all housed in an area know as District 9. They then begin to revolt.

How Wii... had fun

On our recent church trip this past week I finally saw how the Wii has been put to good use. We went to a retirement home, which had a Wii, where we were to help out around the place and bond with the residents. It was actually a lot of fun, but i was really surprised how positivly the residents have responded to the system, they really like to bowl, and they seemed to like still being able to do things like bowl, golf, or even BOX! Anyway I was just excited to see videogames actually used for a true contentful and helpful event for once. It was cool

iPodwizard

So I got a message on youtube today and it seems less and less people are visting iPodwizard, my answer for this? With the release of new Apple Product after New Apple product people dont care for the older, more complex ways of customization and insted with ... ZOMG LIGHTNIG OUTSIDE!!! .... easier more simple ways of jailbreaking with the iPod touch and iPhone, not that theres anything wrong with jailbreaking but... I dont know how to say this, Ill just post the message I sent back to IPW...

-i agree, with people flocking to every new device apple puts out its harder to get others to pay attention to the older models, even with all the personal customization. I still have my old iPods and I will never EVER get rid of them or lose them, they are some of my most important possesions i own. Everything I learned (iPod hackit wise that is) came from all the forums at IPW, without all that i would not have ever been inspired to go into proggramming or anything like that, without all that I dont know where i would be, long story short IPW sparked my initiative to begin to do things insted of sitting around talking and thinking about them,to stop being so freaking lazy and do something. Sure ill start being more in volved with the forums but to save IPW, something will need to happen, like a new project or something big, something that would catch Apple, the general population, and anyones elses attention-

Visit the site, visit the forums, it's a very nice community they have set up, and its not just about iPods either, lots of good people

Fallout 3 - Point Lookout

I haven't really talked about the Fallout 3 DLCs much so since anywhere is a good place to start let us start with the most recent DLC Point Lookout.

Story:
Buy a ticket and hop on board the Duchess Gambit, as Tobar the Ferryman takes you to the strange seaside town of Point Lookout. What secrets does the dilapidated boardwalk hold? Who lives in the sprawling mansion? Why is the Punga Fruit so important? And what horrors lie in the depths of the murky swamp?

Point Lookout is the most open-ended DLC yet, and allows you to explore a huge, swampy wasteland any way you’d like. A completely new quest line allows you uncover the town’s hidden secrets and wield powerful new weapons like the Double-Barrel Shotgun against the swamp’s dangerous, and deformed, denizens.

- Fallout 3 Official Site

Yes this DLC was quite amazing. Had some pretty good big and little plot twist along the way. Lots of new enemies including something that resembles an inbred zombie, and a very rude but cool ghoul Named Desmond. Although the entire DLC was awesome there were 4 major high points I think that need careful attention to all the work that Bethesda puts into this game.

High Point 1 - When you reach the "sprawling mansion" know as Calvert Mansion you will only have a brief amount of time to take in all the nice architecture as your quickly thrust into a massive defensive attack that closely resembles a zombie outbreak. There is also a very good demonstration of the Physics Engine used in Fallout 3; use grenades in rooms with lots of plates and other things of the sort. Explosions, falling through multiple floors, last stands and a fail safe are all included.

High Point 2 - Your later sent on a mission to obtain Punga Fruit Seeds from the Master Punga Fruit, upon reaching it you are sprayed by the plant and sent on a massive "acid trip" seeing things that im not going to ruin, but all I can tell you is that it was like nothing ever experienced on Fallout 3 before.

High Point 3 - Later at the Calvert mansion something else huge occurs leading to a massive _______ and ________ of _________ fly everywhere. One of my favorite top moments of fallout ever.

High Point 4 - The final battle can be amazing depending on how you play it out, just don't make it boring, live and be epic.

LOWEST POINT EVER - At the "end" of the DLC I noticed something, I got no XP for anything, in fact I cant get any XP anymore, Im only at level 27, Bug in update?

And have you heard about id Software and Bethesdas little innuendo?

Now on a completely different note, Left 4 Dead, I've killed 46,107 infected (zombies) out of the 53,595 need for the Zombie Genocidest Achievement and I'm now going full force BEAST MODE on anything that moves so watch out

The Office of Recreation

Here at Blogs From a Bathroom, We (meaning me) strive to talk about more than just games. So let's talk about the new series from Deedle-Dee Productions , the people who brought us The Office , are bringing us a new show Parks and Recreation.P&R takes place in the town of Pawnee Indiana, where Leslie Knope director of Parks and Recreation, is currently trying to transform an undeveloped basement into a brand new park. Very Office like but different, really good opening sequence too.

On Sci-Fi channel tonight The Ultimate Gamer season finale is on. Who will win, Robert or Mark? Games being played are Soul Caliber 4, Shawn White Snowboarding, and Gears of War 2. It's going to be an epic battle no matter what but will have to wait and see.

Recently on xbox live I've been put in place of our "clan" sub-division of all Valve games we play. Team Fortress 2 and Left 4 Dead Are the main games but those are two of my favorites so I'm happy.
I've never really talked about the "clan", MrNiceGuy4400 stated it and theres this stupid feud over it and I wish it were a "clan" that actually played matches regularly like PC clans are, but anyway the clan is called UWF, short for United We Fight. So ya. That's what the xboxers want. To be like the PCers, But I guess theres nothing really wrong with that, It just needs to be more organized.

Upcomming Events

There's two games coming out on the distant but not so distant horizon, well now that I think about it theres three. First is Prototype, the third person action adventure where you play as a genetically enhanced super mutated shape-shifter. As an experiment gone wrong you can consume other humans DNA giving you more powers and capabilities as you progress. From the recent gameplay videos it looks as if your in GTA IV with superpowers. It also looks like were going to be involved in a number of epic helicopter fights along with many cars being thrown, blown up, and well just a lot of destruction.

Next is a game is a bit different than the norm. In Dark Void your a pilot who got lost in the Bermuda Triangle and gets thrown into a Different Dimension, different planet, time zone... Whatever you get the drift. In this new place you and other survivors fight against these alien, robots, android, synthetic being... whatever. Anyway you get a jetpack and a gun. Lots of interesting combat situations.
There's been a lot of talk about the Vertical Combat Situations with you taking cover while hanging on to a Cliff, UFO type thing, weather balloon... whatever, and firing above you. Sure looks interesting. One thing against it though is that from what I've seen, the graphics could look a bit better but hey, they get the job done.
Also I'm sure you've seen or heard of Battlestar Galatica, well the guy who made the music for that show is going to be composing the music for Dark Void. Just a heads up.

Then there's RED FACTION : GUERRILLA . Game looks to be awesome. Very destructible envierments , ( How many times have we heard that before ). Gameplay videos show complete buildings being demolished in real time. My main concern is weather I should get this for 360 or PC . It is 20 bucks cheaper on PC with better graphics and it will probably run better on my machine than the 360, thought the multiplayer is probably going to be more fun on 360.

Now then, anyone watching Sci-Fi channels WCG Ultimate Gamer? Tonight the featured game was Halo 3 . It was cool seeing some real pros play that intense, although Dante got boned in their elimantion match. Anyway you should watch it's good.

Also Crytek, developers of Crysis and FarCry, have been showing off their new CryEngine 3 engine made to be able to run very high graphics settings in the Xbox 360 and PS3, and if you ask me this is a real breakthrough for console gaming. This brings some of the graphical miracles of Crysis to consoles. Not to mention how amazing CryEngine 3 will look on PC. Lets just hope we don't have to use Vista or DX 10 or 11 to run it.

long time no time

So in short - Ive been busy

anyway....

You know that recently new Blackberry Storm, right? Every time the commercial comes on it makes me want to scream. In the commercial, the man using excliams about how the touch screen keybord clicks... Well guess what blackberry, The iPhone does that! In fact it did it way before you every did. Whats that blackberry? you also say it has 3g internet speeds and nice easy to use email? Have you been under a freakin rock...

But it's not just blackberry ( although their blackberry storm is one of the worst ) making all these iphone clones. The LG Dare which I have the misfortune of having which also screems "I wanna have the sucess". Then there's Sprint with their Instinct . It's ridiculous. Do they not know what innovation is? But then thats the key to the iPhone. It was new, quick, and stylish. Now we have all these Knock-offs thinking they can do practically the same thing expecting the same popular demand. You could probably take the audio from some of the iPhone commercials and put that in place of the audio from the knock off commercials and it would be advertising the same thing, especialy with the Storm.

Back to the gaming scene...

F.E.A.R. 2 Left me speechless, let alone depressed, confused, disturbed, and put me on a roller coster of emotion. F.E.A.R 2 did something, that I haven't seen that often. Leaving you entirely helpless and unable to help the characters that the game tries to make you close to. A part inparticular with one of your fellow operatives named Keagen (misspelling?) where he literally wanders off for the latter part of the game. You end up following him seeing him randomly puff into smoke or yell or scream. Then after a while I would actually yell at my computer screen "KEAGEN!!" because I just knew he had a terrible fate comming and "I knew I had to stop it", I didn't want him to die, I wanted to save him so badly. Well you do find him and lets just leave it with I wish I could have done more for him. It almost made me feel the way I felt about Eli Vance at the end of Half Life 2 : episode 2.
Also I never want to be THAT CLOSE to Alma ever ever ever ever again. The game kinda ended at a bad time. Big cliffhanger.

By the way Mirrors edge for PC looks more than amazing. It's the only game I cancompare graphically to Crysis. It's actually a quite a bit different than the 360version, with sheet physics, realistic tearing with flags and such. Also the DLC for more race maps has recently become avlible. I actually advise getting it, worth your while.

Let's see what else...

Oh yea GTA IV DLC the Lost and the Damned came out. It's alright but has too much F-bombing. The multiplayer mode Chopper vs. Chopper is hands down one of my favorites.

It can get very epic.

Left 4 Dead get's more epic everytime I play it. Me and freinds (while waiting for the upcoming survival mode due this spring) have created our own survival mode, which involves entering a infinate panic event on any of the final episodes of any campagin on easy... Ya on easy. Now just because it's on easy doesnt make it too easy when your tring to hold out with two to three tanks at the same time. The best is in Dead Air on top of the plane, or Death Toll , in which I advise activating the rescue boat to come the running back to just ouside the safe room in the middle of the street.

Well thats it for now... oh wait it's not because once again I went mentally insane today, get the lemonade away from me. Keagen should stop running away, why do I always die after saving someone else from a tank, since when does mirrors edge have snipers shoot rats and birds, why does the chopper not explode on impact, look at the clouds go by, says the king of fridays.

I love this computer

Hold up

I think I've never mention I got Fallout 3 a couple of months ago for PC. Very well designed for open ending gameplay. I probably never do every single little thing in this game. Its a very inspiring game. They have recently released an editor for mods too. Ive been working on one for a while too. It's not too complecated.

A lot and after Christmas...

First, new gaming computer on the way...

Processor: Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.4GHz (1066MHz FSB) (8MB Cache)
Motherboard: NVIDIA 650i Core 2 Quad (Chipset: nForce 650i Ultra)
System Memory: 4GB DDR2 667MHz Corsair
Power Supply: 550W Corsair HX (Dual SLI Compatible) (Silent Edition)
Hard Drive: 320GB Western Digital (16MB Cache) (7200 RPM) (SATA)
Optical Drive 1: DVD±R/RW/CD-R/RW (DVD Writer 20x / CD-Writer 48x)
Internet Access: High Speed Network Port (Supports High-Speed Cable / DSL / Network Connections)
Video Card(s): 2x SLI Dual (NVIDIA GeForce 9800GT 512MB) (Includes PhysX Technology)
Sound Card: Integrated Motherboard Audio
Extreme Cooling: Standard Factory Heat-sink and Fan
Chassis Airflow: Standard Factory Chassis Fans
Internal Lighting: Internal Chassis Lighting System (Blue)
Windows OS: Microsoft Windows XP Home (Includes Service Pack 3)

dont ask how much it cost...

...So soon I will Truly be playing Crysis soon...

Gears of War 2 had a way better ending than Gears one did. Way more epic and had very emotional points that went with the music perfectly. Gears one had better music though in my professinal opinon.

I was wrong about Left 4 Dead, it never gets old. I have it for PC and 360. First game that makes it fun to be the Zombies.

Farcry 2 for 360 now which isnt really that different than the PC besides the editor and the fact of the lower graphics.

I got Mirrors Edge too. That was a unexpected insant classic. Great Game. Amazing gameplay. Great story, that for some reason makes me think of Leathal Weapon, and even great cutscenes when they were real time.

Hopefully The new computer will be able to run GTA IV decentaly too.

I think Braid comes out for PC in Febuary.

and thats all for now.

One more test

One more test. I'm trying to figure out weather or not I should buy a blogger app from the app store or not.

iPhone blogging test

I have been having trouble trying to blog from my iPhone and iPod and this is just a test.
